Collagraphy

Collage engraving is a printmaking technique that combines collage with elements of traditional printing. In this process, the artist creates a visual composition by gluing different materials, such as paper, fabric or textured objects, onto a base surface, usually cardboard or rigid board. After the matrix is finished, the surface is coated with ink and pressed against paper to transfer the image, using a gravure press or by hand.

This technique allows for a wide range of experimentation and artistic expression, as artists can use a variety of materials to create unique textures and patterns. Collagravure results in prints with an intriguing visual aesthetic, which often feature a mix of three-dimensional and two-dimensional elements. It is a creative and versatile form of printmaking that offers unlimited opportunities for artistic exploration.
