Oil Painting
Oil painting is a painting technique that uses pigments mixed with linseed, poppy, or walnut oil to create works of art. These pigments are applied in layers on a canvas, usually with brushes, palettes or spatulas, allowing for a wide variety of effects and textures. The slow drying of the oil allows the artist to work on the work for a long period of time, making adjustments and overlaps. Oil painting is known for its richness of color, depth and durability over time. It is a technique widely used by artists throughout the history of art, from Renaissance masters to contemporary ones.
